# Getting Started

# Getting Started with Kaanha AI

This guide walks you through signing up, connecting your WhatsApp Business account, and sending your first message in under 10 minutes.

## Step 1: Create Your Account

1. Visit [app.kaanha.ai/signup](https://app.kaanha.ai/signup)
2. Enter your email, name, password, **organization name**, and **business type**, and accept the terms of service — or skip all of that and click **Sign up with Google** for one-click signup via OAuth
3. Check your inbox for a verification email from Kaanha AI (not needed if you signed up with Google)
4. Click the verification link — this activates your account
5. You'll be redirected to the login page

> **Note:** You must verify your email before you can log in (Google signup skips this step). If you don't see the email within 2 minutes, check your spam folder or use "Resend Verification" on the login page.

## Step 2: Connect WhatsApp

After logging in, you'll see the **Onboarding Wizard**. Kaanha AI uses the **official Meta Cloud API** to connect your WhatsApp Business number, and the fastest way to do that is Meta's own one-click flow:

1. Click **Connect with Facebook** — this opens Meta's **Embedded Signup** popup
2. Log in to your Meta Business account and follow the prompts to select or create a WhatsApp Business Account and phone number
3. Approve the requested permissions — Kaanha AI receives the phone number ID, business account ID, and access token automatically, with nothing to copy-paste

If you'd rather manage your own Meta App directly, manual credential entry is still available as a fallback under **Settings → Cloud API** (Phone Number ID, Business Account ID, Access Token, App Secret) — connection status shows as a badge once your webhook starts receiving events, there's no separate "test" button since Meta doesn't offer a synchronous connectivity check.

## Step 3: Add Your First Contact

1. Go to **Contacts → Add Contact**
2. Enter the phone number in **E.164 format** (e.g., `+91 9876543210`)
3. Add a name, email, and any tags
4. Toggle **Opt-In** to confirm the contact has agreed to receive messages

> WhatsApp requires contact opt-in consent before you can message them. See [Contacts & Conversations](./contacts-conversations.md) for opt-in management.

## Step 4: Send Your First Message

1. Go to **Chat** → select or create a conversation
2. Type a message in the input area and press **Send**
3. For new conversations, WhatsApp requires a **pre-approved template** if the contact hasn't messaged you in the last 24 hours

## Step 5: Complete Your Onboarding Checklist

The dashboard shows a 6-item checklist. Complete each to unlock the full platform:

## Step 6: Choose Your Plan

Kaanha AI offers five subscription tiers. The **Free** tier is available forever — start there or jump straight to a paid plan.

> **AI credits:** 1 credit = 1,000 tokens. Soft-block triggers when balance hits zero — top up by upgrading your plan.
>
> **Payments:** Stripe USD only. WhatsApp message fees are billed directly by Meta (zero markup from Kaanha AI).
